Economic Impact Awards

EVENT SUMMARY
The First Annual Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards was held during a luncheon on Tuesday, November 23 at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. The Economic Impact Awards honored organizations from each of the five regions of the state. The Special Distinction Honoree for the Western region was Boyd Converting Company, Nypro for the Central region, Silver Line Building Products for the Southeast region, New Balance Athletic Shoes for the Northeast region, and Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research for the Boston Region. The event also featured Economic Booster Awards selected by MAED's Executive Committee. The Economic Booster Awardees were selected based upon the overall economic impact of the organization outside of the criteria set forth for the Economic Impact awards. The Regional Economic Impact Award went to the Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts. The Statewide Strategic Asset Award went to the University of Massachusetts, and lastly the International Economic Impact Award went to the China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO).
