Since its founding in 1993, MAED has assisted over 1000 companies in their search for suitable locations in all parts of Massachusetts. In 2000 alone, MAED-assisted companies expanded into over 3 million square feet of space and generated and retained over 4,500 jobs in such diverse sectors as electronics, printing and publishing, plastics, and biotechnology. Major companies we have worked with over the past several years include Sun Microsystems, 3COM, American Superconductor Corporation, Merck & Co.

Working with our public sector partners, MAED brings a private sector voice to marketing Massachusetts as a place to do business. Its leaders served on the Governor's Economic Development Council, and its Ambassadors - a network of business executives throughout the state - serve as peer resources for companies considering Massachusetts as an expansion location.

In addition to the tangible benefits of attracting and retaining business to and within the state, the Alliance also offers its members a forum to meet and work with a cross-section of peers from various industry segments who share a commitment to the Commonwealth's economic future.
